2012 Meeting Schedule

• January, 2012 - No event planned.

• February 20, 2012 - Family Day at Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre, Historical Society to have a display and activities.

• February 23, 2012 - Heritage Organization and Committee Networking Event. At the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.

• March 24, 2012 - Executive meeting at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.

• April 24, 2012 7 PM - A presentation by Mary MacKay on the history of Dobbinton. Location Dobbinton United Church.

• May 29, 2012 - Annual Bus Trip. Destination Wasaga Beach, Wasaga Beach Park to the Nancy Island Historic Site, final resting place of the 1812 schooner H.M.S. Nancy. Also other museums, cairns, etc. in the area. Lunch in the area. In conjunction with the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.

• June 09, 2012 – Workshop for the “Barns Project". Meet at 1:30 PM at lot 3 Con. 7, former Arran Township, 2 miles east of Burgoyne on Bruce Road 17, the farm of Ken & Shirley Underwood, municipal address: 1170, Bruce Co. Road 17. There are two barns to experience, one prior to 1900, the other 1920. Under the direction of barn expert and author Jon Radojkovic. Conversation and cookies around the pool will end the afternoon.

• July 9, 2012 - Evening presentation, Authors Night, in conjunction with the Bruce County Genealogical Society. Wine & cheese.

• August 17 - 19, 2012 - Bruce County Heritage and Steam Show, Paisley. Historical Society will have a display and activities.

• September 15, 2012 - Digital Scavenger Hunt

• October 27, 2012 - Annual General Meeting – Speaker James Laxer, Topic will be the famous Shawnee leader Tecumseh and his part in the War of 1812; location – TBD.

• November, 2012 - Possible Walkerton Legion tour, lunch.

• December 1, 2012 - Christmas event.
